| A lot of young people nowadays are really addicted to gadgets. Some of them just want to be in and follow the crowd. Well it is not also easy to have your own gadget because you have to see to it that you have enough budgets for its maintenance. And I think there should be limitation for them to use these gadgets most especially in the school to focus in studies well. |
| That is true. There are lots of people nowadays who would just buy stuffs that are most of the time really expensive just to get hold of what are new and what are 'in'. | You either go with the rapid flow of the river or be stuck between the rocks standing tall against the stream. I don't find anything wrong with trying out various gadgets as long as you have the resources to do so. If before, computers were just luxuries, now they are more of a necessity as it can now aid researches, communication, and many more. But in the end let us consider that we, humans created these machine and we are the ones that should be controlling these inanimate pieces of technology and not the other way around. |
| I have to agree with Jean. There is nothing wrong in trying out the latest gadgets in the market. As long as you have the resources to do so. But we all understand also that we are facing a hard financial times nowadays and so it is also important that we do check out some ways to save even when buying for technological stuffs. | Gadgets are really popular most especially for younger people. In one way or another, they find comfort and entertainment through these. Well, I think we just have to give kids a limitation for using these gadgets so it won't affect their studies and they won't alter their attention much. | I think if you are trying to be frugal, then purchasing gadgets doesn't really fall under frugality. When you are living a frugal lifestyle, then you will only purchase things you actually need, or things that will greatly increase your income so as to offset their price or "luxury" status. That does not mean I am against having a gadget or two, I just think purchasing gadgets should be perceived as departing from a frugal lifestyle. |

| Well, I think that, with no disrespect to your mom who obviously loves you very much and wants to encourage you in your studies, simply being given all the latest gadgets because you have acheived something in school which is a basic expectation and should be its own reward, will not do much to helping you truly understand the situation in the real world. In the real world you must work a bit harder than that for luxuries. |
