Each time I do a research, I am very excited to discover new things. |
I can imagine how difficult it must be to put together the story of the Revolutionary War generation. Just the task of finding all those photos of people who lived during that era is already a true challenge, especially given the fact that there were no photos yet during the American War. Since there were no photos yet during that era, I suppose "The Last Muster" only has portraits of the people who lived during that era and not photos of the actual war.

Genealogy is really an interesting field. I guess it is right to give importance to family history. This is essential to make people appreciate the beauty of life today. They would understand their life better if they know much about their ancestors. Well, that is because I think what happens today can be the result of the past. That is why in order for us to improve our lives; we need to know things from that past that would serve as our basis.
Old photos are truly helpful for us to trace back our family history, and human race history. I believe that photos in the past are significant and need to be preserved. They serve as treasures, and in fact they are useful for researchers in the future. Yes, as what others say, these are historical evidence. Aside from that, there are several historical artifacts that we can also use for studying Genealogy.
Genealogy can be traced not on old photos but to get a sample on the mucous membrane of an individual, examine it, put to a DNA test and compare it to all the races of the entire planet, how's that? If you get a number of forty to eighty percent similar to that of a Pakistani, then your roots are of that race. Try to see national geographic channel sometimes.
What's that you're saying? if one's DNA is forty to eighty percent similar as a Pakistani, than one is from that race? Couldn't it simply be from a race which the Pakistanis also stemmed, such as some forefather of all Asians, or even of all humans? Depending on if you believe that the world was all one huge landmass in previous times, had an ice age, or even if we all belong to the same human race. (Yes, some people believe that humans differ that much...take Hitler for example...)
These pictures really tell a story and even though it was a sad story at times, as all war stories are, they help you see the beauty of the time period and the region. It is a pity that photography was not invented til later as I would have loved to see photos from even further back in history of such things as the Roman conquest of Europe, or even further back such as the building of the pyramids.
Genealogy is a very interesting thing to learn because at times it surprises you to discover people who are part of your family. Aside from searching on the internet and going to the library for acquiring some information, it is also important to gather old photos trace your family history. It is really a big challenge for many researchers as well. Thank you for sharing the post. Great day.

And I must say that old photos indeed are great tool to trace familial bonds of people. |
they are trying to do a genetic tracking. it good to collect old photos to see the features of your old folks and to know how your race have prospered. sometimes you will notice that most of you as grandchildren in your generation are much taller than the generation of your grandparents but they are far good looking. this is how genetic works. you could be similar in a few things but not all of it
I really am interested in studying Genealogy. This is a field of science that deals with tracing or discovering our roots and family history. For me, this is really interesting because you will be able to trace your ancestors and who your distant relatives as well. I am also doing my own research of our family tree. Great day to all.
I would wonder really how someone could do any real genetic tracking through photos. I mean, humans look so similar in many ways, that photos would not be the most reliable way to find your ancestors, especially since a person's looks can be shaped by his surroundings, circumstances, and past experiences. I did enjoy the photos however, from a historical point of view, as I am always interested in the past.
